The reporter learned from Guangdong Branch of General Administration of customs that in 2019, the customs in Guangdong Province put 247 cases on file to investigate and deal with solid waste smuggling crimes, up 28% year on year, and verified about 700000 tons of solid waste suspected of smuggling into China. Since 2017, the Customs has carried out "blue sky action", and the work of banning foreign garbage has achieved phased results.

Recently, the customs of Guangdong Province launched the "blue sky 2020" special action, focusing on cracking down on illegal activities such as the trafficking of solid waste import license, false reporting and concealment of Cargo channels, smuggling with smuggling in Tibet, smuggling without customs clearance, etc. According to the new situation of foreign waste smuggling, Guangdong provincial customs will strictly implement the relevant regulations on solid waste supervision, strengthen port inspection and improve the return and disposal mechanism; at the same time, it will also implement rolling precision strike, actively promote overseas law enforcement cooperation, form a three-dimensional prevention and control network, and promote the transformation of the prohibition of foreign waste entry from the goal to the root.
